well that's my most current job. i retired from there in 1986 and decided to live in jersey cause it's such a nice place. after boredom overtook me a few years ago i decided i needed a hobby so i built a jeep. after 3 years with it the maintenance became too much so i parted it out to move to florida and retire on a beach with a martini in hand. turns out the retirement community hired ben stiller to take care of the residents so i decided to stay here and build a new jeep which is brings us to the present

              1. Where do you work?
              Freightliner of Southern Ct.

              2. What do you actually do all day?
I have multiple rolls, I come in at 1PM and work the parts counter until 5PM. Then I go to service where I run second shift. I am also the shop foreman on second shift and cover parts through second shift.

              3. Do you like it?
I do like it. its a good job with good people. I was tracked down by the current owner whom I had worked with previously. So its nice to be here on reputations

              4. What's your favorite part of your job? least favorite part of your job?
I like to help customers. sometimes its actually rewarding when they arent yelling/bitching lol. I dont like the political BS that goes with a dealership and they all have it.

              5. If you could change something at your job what would it be? (fire a co-worker, take a raise, actually talk the smokin' hottie 3 cubicles down the line, etc.)
I would get rid of a couple people that dont deserve to be employed here. otherwise im pretty ok.

              6. If you could quit tomorrow in pursuit of something else, would you?? and what would it be?
I have gone down this goad before. I took a job as the fabricator and welder for a very well known race car fab shop. Diddnt work out to well. mostly because we were friends to begin with but anyway. so I would have to say the only other thing I would do would be to go into business for myself. otherwise I wont leave a perfectly good job again. (I was the road service supervisor for Cummins/Cummins marine when I took the fab job)

                5. If you could change something at your job what would it be? (fire a co-worker, take a raise, actually talk the smokin' hottie 3 cubicles down the line, etc.)

                6. If you could quit tomorrow in pursuit of something else, would you?? and what would it be?
i already did, id like to work with or on vehicles but like everyone says, dont get your hobbies and work mixed up

This job ends sunday for me though, and monday I start in construction. I'm pretty much going to be shop bitch for a 2 dollar pay increase and over 45 hours a week, which is 25 hours more than i get now. No complaints yet, but i havent started lol

1.US Navy, New London Submarine Base
                    2. Right now, my job is pretty awesome for the next few weeks. I'm a SONAR Technician Student and I'm in the last few weeks of my training. I'm in a SONAR simulator almost every day for 3-6hrs at a time, which is pretty exciting IMO. If I'm not in the simulators, I'm bullshitting with my instructor for the rest of the day.
                    3. Right now? Absolutely. I'm a POS in the eyes of the Navy but even I know my job is the shit.
                    4. My favorite part of my job would have to be the relationships that come from the atmosphere my job requires. Submariners are awesome people to be around, and the sense of humor is second to none. It fits my style so perfectly it's unbelievable.
                    5. I will remain quiet on this, because many of the things I would mention I don't have a large amount of experience with. Lets just say the gov't has a lot of room for improvement.

My rank. But in all seriousness, at this point in my career I'm not sure I would change much of anything. I'm learning a LOT, and I'm having fun at the same time. Re-visit this question after August/September.

                    6. Meeehhhhh......That is a very circumstantial question. If nothing changed from the point at which I took this job, then, no. The economy sucks ass, I see too many of my friends stuggling to get jobs...etc.

If there was a good economy, and I could pick a different career...Yes, I probably would

                      1. Where do you work?

US Air Force, Stationed @ Langley Air Force base in Virginia.

                      2. What do you actually do all day?

I repair stealth fighter jets. Mostly deal with coatings of the jet and the structure of the jet, the F-22 to be specific. On a day to day basis, I could be painting a jet, repairing small sections of the jet, panels , structures, ect. Do composite repairs on advanced composites like carbon fiber and such.

                      3. Do you like it?

Some days I love it, other days I get really pissed off and dont like it. But for the most part I do like it. I will probably 20 years in the military and retire.

                      4. What's your favorite part of your job? least favorite part of your job?

Favorite part of the job is the benefits that come with it. Travel is probably the best part. Ive traveled to a tropical island in japan with the AF, basically went on a paid vacation to Las Vegas, Panama City and Pensacola Florida, and have opportunities to go wherever the Air Force needs us to go at a moments notice. Decent pay, decent health care, free education, chances to move around, pride and satisfaction of serving my country. Big reenlistment bonuses that just basically paid for my brand new jeep.

Things I dislike about it, long hours, hard work, work with a lot of nasty chemicals that will kill me one day, can be told to do whatever they want and cant say no. We wear these protective suits and respirators when sanding and painting. In 100+ Degree hangars, sanding and painting for 3-4 hours really really sucks.

                      5. If you could change something at your job what would it be? (fire a co-worker, take a raise, actually talk the smokin' hottie 3 cubicles down the line, etc.)

Obviously more money would be nice. Wish the conditions I worked in were a little better.

                      6. If you could quit tomorrow in pursuit of something else, would you?? and what would

Wouldnt quit. Economy sucks too much and I like my job. Even if I were to quit, I have no idea what Id want to do, which is why I joined the military in the first place.

                        1. Where do you work?

I am a Judicial Marshal for the State of Connecticut

                        2. What do you actually do all day?

I transport prisoners from New Haven Correctional to the Meriden courthouse, and from the Norwich courthouse and New London courthouses to Corrigan Correctional. Occasionally we have special assignments, such as Hayes/Komisarjevsky, east coast rapist, or any other high profile trial that involved a state police escort.

                        3. Do you like it?

Absolutely, I pick up my truck in New Haven, waste the state's gas all day - no supervisor or chief to worry about...plus, I'll be eligible for retirement at the ripe old age of 43 with full pension and medical for life

                        4. What's your favorite part of your job? least favorite part of your job?

Favorite? I'll never have to worry about getting pulled over ever again. Least? Searching a prisoner sucks, even more so when they haven't showered in weeks and its 85 degrees outside.

                        5. If you could change something at your job what would it be? (fire a co-worker, take a raise, actually talk the smokin' hottie 3 cubicles down the line, etc.)

We're $15,000 underpaid according to our last audit. Our uniforms suck, we need lights and sirens on the truck, and more weapons.

                        6. If you could quit tomorrow in pursuit of something else, would you?? and what would it be?

I missed an opportunity twice to join the last two classes of the Connecticut State Police...I won't be passing up a third.

Worst part is leaving and sometimes going to new places ::coughcoughAfricacoughcough:: One of the worst parts is when shit breaks and you have fix it even if you've been awake for 43 strait hours or work back to back 15 hour shifts with a 5 hour break

                            5. If you could change something at your job what would it be? (fire a co-worker, take a raise, actually talk the smokin' hottie 3 cubicles down the line, etc.)
                            1month on 1 month off instead of 2.5 2.5

                            6. If you could quit tomorrow in pursuit of something else, would you?? and what would it be?

I don't always drink orange juice, but when I do, I prefer to chew it. #madpulp

                              1. Where do you work?
                              Stop and Shop
                              2. What do you actually do all day?
I am the official dairy clerk. I stock and handle dairy, do ordering, and all sorts of other bullshit
                              3. Do you like it?
If you're asking do I dread going to work? No I do not. I don't mind it but I don't want to work there for my entire life.
                              4. What's your favorite part of your job? least favorite part of your job?
My favorite part is that I am pretty much withing reason my own boss. They work with me when I need days off and they have treated me well since I started there. Least favorite part is some of my fellow co workers. They get all of these hours and do jack shit. Since we're (stop and shop) union its hard to get someone fired unless they do certain things.
                              5. If you could change something at your job what would it be? (fire a co-worker, take a raise, actually talk the smokin' hottie 3 cubicles down the line, etc.) Fire these lazy mother fuckers and hire real workers that need jobs.
                              6. If you could quit tomorrow in pursuit of something else, would you?? and what would it be?
I would love to just get up and quit but that isn't very smart. The only way I ever would quit would be to have another job completely lined up. If I am skeptical about it I will just "keep my foot in the door" until I know its 100% I want/have the other job.
