FWIW, i see your side of the argument, but this in specific is weak.

"Doing tons" is a lot different than swapping a completely new motor/drivetrain, stretching the wheelbase substantially, AND completely tubing a major portion of the rig out (which is what I think Phil put very loosely with "add a cage").

What I was trying to argue is that a lot of some of us modify our shit to the point where it's barely still a cherokee and yet we all still recognize it as one immediately because we're into these gay, unibodied, 10+ year old stationwagons. Look at Vetteboy's rig. It's got a ton of tube, it's got a different motor (stroked) and it's on tons with a different drivetrain etc. Yet, there's no way you can tell me it's not a cherokee.

A yota guy would look at that first picture I posted and say "oh sweet sami".
It's the same idea. I'm not saying I love sami's, I'm just saying to each his own. And if I had stumbled on a super cheap sami, and had toy axles in my barn I wouldn't hesitate to build one.

The point of dumping money into it even though he has his XJ, is that it's different. I see 3 or 4 lifted xj's in my town. I've seen 0 lifted samurais. Why did you put money into your waggy when you had your XJ phil?

We have like 7 or 8 lifted xj's in Milford, not counting Zullo's deceased rig. Some times I see them all in under an hour.

I haven't put any money into my wagoneer other than to get it running correctly. I have yet to buy gears and the tires were free. The lift kit was a gift.

My XJ is also extremely capable for what it is and the Wagoneer will probably never see trails again because it is too massive.

But let us get back to the original question: Would I sell my XJ in favor of the Wagoneer? You have to be fucking stupid to think that I'd do that. Should Dillon sell his XJ in favor of the Samurai? In my opinion, fucking HELL no. If he wants to build the Samurai, do it, but don't sell the XJ to do it. It's a proposterous idea to begin with.

You'll never convince me that Samurais are the best thing sinced flushing toilets. I just don't like them like I just don't like Glocks. There are other vehicles that are just as fun and just as, if not more, capable in my eyes.
