So, ever wonder how much light pollution there REALLY is?
We have Long Island to thank for this one (and I imagine NYC)
This picture was taken at 1:30am, 30 second shutter. No moon visible (its only 9% full today anyway in the phase)
NOTE, 1:30am, this is not near sunrise, and the sun rises behind me in these pics anyway
a higher f-stop to bring the brightness down, you can really see the "band" of visible light pollution in this one. The fact the amount of light exists to be able to create the first picture regardless of camera setting is insane.
