I am in the market for a new digital camera...point and shoot style, not SLR. I go backpacking and hiking and am looking for one that offers panoramic shots. Not looking to break the bank either. I have seen ones that are shock resistant and/or water resistent and those look pretty good too; those arent panoramic however. Any recommendations?

Steve check out the olympus stylus tough 8010 or any of the tough series depending on what you want to spend. They range from 200-400. It takes great photos and it is almost unbreakable. They are water proof, freeze proof, shock proof, and the 8010 shoots 720p hd video. I have a samsung (SL605) similar to Owens and it works great for what i use it for, not sure if it does the panoramic.

I have 2 Panasonic Lumix cameras. love both. I like how long the rechargeable li-ion bats last
