2000 Jetta HELP!

Does anyone here own one of these fucking things. I could really use some help setting the windshild wiper linkage to the motor. The nut that holds the whole thing together fell off last week. Will and I got the thing back together however now the wipers dont run in the right sequence. They go half way up the windshield then slam back on the base of the cawling(i dont know how to fucking spell it). I have read that the arm has to be tightened down to the motor when the arm is at the exact angle or the timing and sequence will be off.

If anyone has a jetta could you please let me know at what angle the freaking arm is when the wipers are off. If not then if anyone knows where I can find this infromation it will be very helpful. I have searched and searched. I have also asked 3 other VW forums, but for VW Jetta if your not asian or race in some fast and furious club no one will answer you.

It continues to rain every fucking day so I really need to fix this before i kick out the fucking windshield and drive with a snorkel and tear offs.

Try unbolting it and then bolt them up in secquence like you where talkign about? If not nuke it from orbit

LOL i tried that. There are 360 degrees to choose from becase the moror makes full circles when it is running. Its advanced alien science. I want to set the car on fire....

Thank you see what he says. I found something that mentions setting it to 9:00. If it works i will let you know.

9:00 did not work. However the sharpness of the plastic did. I cut myself again in the exact same place. Fuck VW. I hope Connecticut makes Jettas illegal next.

cant you just turn the car on, turn on the wipers. then turn them off while the car is on. this will set it back to "the start". then bolt the wipers on where they would sit when off?

one would think...But NO.

The position of that tab has to be at a certian place on the bolt or motor shaft.

That is the only way to set the "start" position relative to the wipers. The motor stops at the same place every time. Where to i place that tab while its stopped?

I work at Imported Automotive we work on a bunch of those cars I don't know off hand but I'm sure I can figure it out ask AllData or my boss would probably know right away, we also have the software to get into those car computers.
I'll be working tonight until about 5:30 to 10-10:30
