  • Yearly Mantainence

I'm gettin ready to do mine and was just wondering what everyone else does as their end of the season upkeep on their jeeps.

    I:
replace the TRE's in my steering
    change the oil
    Drain and flush the radiator
pull the battery for the winter
flush and re-bleed the brakes (depending on the color of the fluid)
drain and refill the transfer case
    grease all my joints
hahaha normally i replace my driveshaft u joints, but considering i feel like i do that at least every other trip, it gets left out this year.

Just curious as to what everyone else does, obviously its gonna be different if you daily drive though.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Check all the fluids/top them off.
Lower the psi in the tires a bit
Heavy coat of wax on the rims/body
    Fresh undercoat for the winter
    Torque everything down again
Give the jeep a good cleaning inside
    Check all the joints

mines a daily driver sooo this is normal routine maintenance.

                      I just did:

                      TREs
                      Radiator/ coolant flush
                      oil change
                      tire rotation
diff fluids a month or 2 ago
                      still gotta do trans fluid
grease everything as often as i have access to a grease gun
                      flush the t case
                      bled the brakes again
                      rear DS u joint
still gotta do the front DS u joint.

                      and i dunno what else

usually the fluids get done once a year unless diffs have to be opened up or any other problems force me too

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

I now need a new exhaust, the Wrenching Zone ate mine from the cat back.

                          But as to yearly maintenance:

I usually drain/replace/redrain the oil once a year to clean it out. I mix oil and Marvel half-and-half for this.

clean the plugs and all the ignition contacts, then regrease them with dielectric stuff.

                          Zerk fittings.

                          Check/replace ujoints and bearings.
