gonna make this quick. but i have to vent.
so i'm taking a creative writing class this semester and our last assignment was to write a 5 page short story about ANYTHING we wanted. so i wrote a story, not amazing, but whatever, it was a first draft. so we had to make copies for everyone in the class (about 20 people) and now we're reading eachothers and every day in class we discuss 3 stories. we each got a story that we had to lead a conversation in class about...
so today in class we do my story. the girl that leads my discussion starts off by saying she doesn't 'get' my story and that there wasn't enough and that more shit should have happened. she keeps going and going until my professor had to cut her off and be like 'not every story has to have bridges blowing up and people dying left and right.' the discussion continued and then she picks out the one or two grammatical errors i made.
so now i'm pissed. not because i can't take criticism well, because i can. but because her story was HORRIBLE. so the girl who read her story starts going, and i chime in and rip her apart. her story is about a 10 year old girl who gets rapped, but wrote the story like an 18 year old girl was speaking. we had to correct her dialogue format and all this other shit.
whatever, stupid rant. but i hate when people are like 'this shit sucks,' meanwhile they don't even know how to properly use quotation marks.
/rant.
