  • Who does gear installs?

Blew the ring and pinion, local garage wants 1100 to fix it which I don't have. They said parts is gonna be like 600. from qtec it's like 350 shipped for the R+P and master install. Can anyone help that's done them?

Depending on how far you are willing to drive a guy Joe (Endless Mt Fab) out in Blakeslee, PA did my gear install. He charges $45 per hour and does great work.

                            Thanks guys,
I can install those gears no problem.

General repair shops always charge an arm and a leg for that kind of work.
They usually don't have all the tools and it takes twice as long.
At the garage I worked charged something like $800-1000for just bearings that probably 8hr job for them.
It was nice I would get paid extra because I had all the axle tools.

All wheel drive low pinion Grand Cherokees love to eat the bearings.
Dodge rear axles are not much better.
