yeah im pretty excited to get this thing going. what does everyone suggest for first mods? im pretty mechanically inclined, i do all the work on my pontiac.

not looking to go too crazy with the jeep but id like to give it a little lift, throw some bigger tires and rims on it and maybe some intake/exhaust work. any thoughts?

      TIA

        get your carb squared away...
how big of a lift do you want to do?
how much rust do you have?
        what axles do you have?

what should i get squared away with the carb?
maybe like a 4" lift or something? would like to fit atleast some 32s maybe?
          surprisingly no rust at all
not sure about axles either. stock out of a 89 wrangler? lol

like i said, im not going to go crazy off roading and rock crawling. just going to go through some trials and mud ect.

for 32's you could get away with a 2" and some trimming. i'm on 32's with a sagged out 3" and it only rubs where i'm not bumpstopped

cool, wasnt sure of what tire size id be able to go with but it sounds like 32s would be easy enough. where do you guys buy your lift kits from/what do you make them out of?

im new to the 4x4, off road, lifting the vehicle thing lol

                            is it a 4.2?

strip all the crap off the carb / motor.. dont go with a webber carb, they suck for off camber stuff (i had one)

take off track bars and sway bars

put a 2" lift on it with some new shackles (stock stamped steel ones suck and crack if you wheel it)

get a gas tank skid or raise the tank

put 32"s on it and wheel the piss out of it. after yu wheel it for a while you will know what you want to mod next (gears, lockers ect..)

its actually the 2.5. it has 180k on the body and 80k on the motor. ive been lurking around here and another jeep forum trying to gather info before i just start buying crap i dont need.

from what i have read so far, i think im going to go with a RC 4" lift with boomerang shackels. take out the track bars, make sway bar discos and put some 32-34's on it.

i already have a gas guzzler so i dont think ill be doing a swap anytime soon but i might get a header, make my own snorkle, and do a few other little performance mods. havnt found any performance site for it yet though, any suggestions?

                                You dont need Sway bars.
