  • XJ front springs vs. TJ front springs

Are they the same? I thought so, at least dimensionally (Outer diameter). I was looking at Ballistic Fabrication coil spring mounts and they say they are designed to work with a "TJ Front 5.5" OD spring." I measured the stock XJ springs I have and they are 5". I thought that they were the same as TJ fronts. Or maybe they are referring to an aftermarket spring?

I know this to be true for my 4-banger. As far as width, I'm pretty sure they are the same. XJ springs are a higher tension, but it seems to me to be about the same as Rubicon front springs (both XJ fronts, and Rubicon springs would have lifted my 2.5L about an inch).
