An alternative to a new carrier for a HP D30

With Gobigorgohome's recent build thread woe's RJ and I (that i know of) said you HAVE to get a new carrier... But on David's Facebook he posted this ring gear spacer and I had no idea if this would work for a HP D30...instead of a new 3.73+ carrier.

If this works than great, im getting the new carrier from dan for free so im good. Hope it works if any one decides to buy it

But like i said, i don't see why doing something as simple as this would depend on a lp/hp

Low and High pinion carriers are definitely compatible, the only stuff that's not is the outer pinion bearing and obviously the gears. Just did my gears with a 3.73+ D30 carrier I got out of a wrecked 4cyl TJ.

So basically your spacer should work.

I picked it up today.... they look exactly the fucking same! im gonna swap spiders, and everything over to the other carrier and see if it fits better, if not, then ill have to buy this spacer

wait, the little raised ring between the spiders(housing) and the the top are diff, gonna put it in and hope for the best

Edit: Swing and a miss. Buying a new carrier to be on the safe side, hopefully i can get it here by tuesday and finish this nightmare
