Thanks, i have steel from the front bumper build so it's 3x6x3/16. Just so happens i have enough to make that a xmember, use angle iron or something as the unibody mount, and use some of the 1/4 steel i have left over from tie ins as the arm bracket

Does this look good for strength wise? Also is there any places i can get just the lower arm? Making them would be just as much as getting the rustys lowers

        Bleh.

If they don't fuck you over on shipping costs, they will wear out somehow and you will hate them.

A good rule of thumb is just avoid Rustys altogether.

The only reason i said rusty's, is because they sell the lowers for $270 a pair

most typical radius arm lowers are very similar. take a look at re, rc, clayton and treks. i'm sure you can get a good price on the lowers through one of them

if you are building a longarm crossmember...

you can EASILY fabricate some solid arms using joints of your choice

I know i can fab them, but last time i priced it out, it was like $250 for all of it.

Where do you recommend getting the joints and the nut inserts? prefer to buy from one place if possible

If you get those, I would go with 1.25" 12tpi thread and 5/8 bolt hole.

1.25" 12tpi is a very common size and plenty strong. You could go with a 3/4" bolt hole if you really wanted, but that's a big ass bolt and kindof overkill for somebody like you and me. I'm going to be running 5/8" bolts on the track bar I'm building.

all you need is 9/16" bolts

                      ballistic joints are garbage
                      they either creak or knock

i like the currie jhonny joints

just remember if you are building a radius arm setup you need rubber bushings at the axle end to compensate for the binding

                          yep.

ive had to tighten em up 3 times

they will creak right after you tighten them for a week

then be nice and quiet for about a week, then begin knocking

then tighten again when you get sick of the knocking

Im thinking of just buying a kit, with my luck ill end up making a simple mistake and causing many headaches in the future. I would probably get tired of the project half way through and just wing the last half of it
