So my xj ac works good for a while then gets warm. Sometimes i can shut it off after it being ice cold turn it back on 3 sec later and its warm air. i was thinking of just charging it but it sounds like it has a leak when i shut the jeep off or stand out side. The pump also goes on and off makes alot of noise any ideas or should i just charges it see what happens ?

refrigerant never goes bad in a vehicle. people think they need a recharge because the refrigerant is "bad." This is not the case. The only reason it will pump warmer air is if there is a lack of refrigerant in the system. Hence, a leak. Has the pump been getting louder and louder?

Your low pressure shut off Spencer could be bad causing it to run continuously causing the system to freeze upComment
