  • PLEASE HELP

    i got stuck tonight and flooded the truck in side with about a foot of water and now my gagues are dead and on the odometer it reads" no bus" i need to know what it is and how to fix it. the truck is a 2000 cherokee. thank you very much for the help.

    No bus means your gauge cluster isnt communicating with the computer. hopefully you didnt do too much damage. this usually means that something is disconnected but since you sunk it in water you might have some other problems...

    found this by a simple google search. "If any sensor shorts out the pcm goes dead and the no bus sign shows. On the rear drivers side top of bellhousing is the location for the crank sensor. Unplug the sensor and watch your dash. Your meters will restore and the NO BUS flag will be gone."

        thank you so much and i know i should have used a google search first but my head is in a million different places right now and my nose is burried in the repair manual but i cant find in thanks again i will try this in the morning

              one more question now when ever i shut the key off the horn goes off and the only way to stop it is turn the key to "on" and then disconnect the battery.anybody know why? thanks again

                something is shorted i think. no bueno senor. disconnect your battery anyway. it will prevent anymore shorts from occurring if anything is possibly still wet

                      i pulled the cps plug out dried it and gave it a shot of wd-40 also took out every fuse under the dash and gave it the same treatment. also did it to pretty much all the plugs under the hood. still no gauges and no bus the horn goes off after about 5 min i dont now any answers. thanks
