I am currently installing the RE1660 track bar, all was going smooth until i realized it was about .5-1inch too long when adjusted to its shortest length. I have done a little research and found it can be shortened 2 ways, either trimming the threads or cutting and sleeving the bar its self. Which way do you think would be the better way? or would i be better off just throwing some coil spacers in?

if it's new send it back for a smaller one if not probabley just cut

My xj has the RE 3.5 super flex lift. The RE website says it will work with a lift from 4-6in. I heard the RE lifts tend to give a little more then they claim, so i figured that .5 difference between 3.5 and 4 would be ok.....guess not
