your bexter spring is shot, making the rattling noise. replace it or just re-lube it if its still in spec.

oil pressure is no problem for me. 60 at idle an 80 when driving. jeep has 180K on it tho. i took it to my friends shop and he thinks one of my lifters is shot. he's gonna tear it down tomorrow.

sucks cuz i wanted to get rid of this thing and buy a tj this summer but its kinda hard to justify after i just put all this money into it
                2 tj's
                3 yj's
                2 xj's
                i'm a jeep whore

oh man that sucks dude. start using diesel oil. I run mobil delvac 15 40 in the cummins. but rotella is good too

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

My 93 used to do this after fresh oil changes....couple hundred miles after, it would quiet down again....i figured it was just the norm. for the 4.0...ive heard the same noise more often than finding a quiet one.

could be the timing chain guides... sometimes they wear out and it sounds like hell coming from the motor. put a long screwdriver up to the timing cover and listen... if it's loud as shit there than you've found your problem (and pray that thats what it is... cause thats a lot easier than rebuilding the bottom end)
