doorless security...

I'd like to go doorless this summer, and with the warm weather I've been giving it some thought lately. My radio isn't really as simple as take out and throw into a locked glovebox. I have a 7" pop out screen.
I was thinking maybe building a little cage around it, but then in order for the screen to come out the cage would either have to stick out about 9" or be able to come off. Since, the 9" thing is too ridiculous for words, I was tryiing to brainstorm some sort of cage device that I could pop on over the radio (when closed and parked) that would be able to lock and be removed.

I have no real design plans or anything...

I thought I'd post up here and ask how people secure their radio's when doorless...

Note: I'm not getting rid of my radio.

Vibration, proximity sensors. or just put a sentry gun in the back that only scans your front seats. I would advise having a remote on off switch though for that so you dont get mowed up.

I don't just drive around casually... So I guess that would make me never doorless...
I want to be doorless from point A to point B.

little hamster cage bars aint gonna stop somebody if they want your radio. dont put nice things in jeeps if your going doorless or topless. it will get stolen.

my system got stolen one night and since then i've had shitty radios that do the job and havne't had a problem since. and i live in nj

x2 dont put nice things in a jeep that cant be locked up. and even if it can be locked up, that doesn't stop people. If someone wants it, they gonna get it

yea I agree with what they said above. I dont ever care about my top being on or off. If somebody really wants something they are going to get it regardless. I rather them just come in and get it than jack my shit up.

Is it legal to take the doors off the Xj in CT and ride around. When you do the doorless mod do the doors come off all easy like. or is it a real pain. I would like to be able ereto put the doors on at night and on the way to school, and then after school just jank em off and drive around.

And heres a question my radios face plate come off. would people try to steal it if all the controlls and stuff are not there.
