Jeeps apart right now, old frame is going to be out this week and the new frame i have prepped with the rear coil stretch is ready to go in. Im just baffled on what im going to do for links and mounts.

What i have now: Clayton long arms, 4 link rear... radius front

do I keep my long arms from clayton and move the frame mount back 5"... or do i make 5" longer arms?
the reason i have genright frame brackets listed is because they move the frame mounted end of the LCA inside the frame rail and a little higher up, so it wont get bashed on the ROX!!!!!

Please help me decide, and list why!

option 1: make longer rears use JJ's i have and buy 2 more, keep front, all stock brackets ~ $265

option 2: use stock arms, get genright frame brackets (for high clearance). Keep front radius arms- $300

option 2.5: use stock arms, get genright frame brackets (for high clearance), 3 link front with the lowers i have - $685

option 3: make longer rears use JJ's I have, buy 2 more, genright frame brackets, keep front radius arms - $564

option 3.5: make longer rears use JJ's I have, buy 2 more, genright frame brackets, 3 link front with lowers that i have - $950

option 4: NEW EVERYTHING (rear 4 link, front 3 link), arms (round), tube inserts, JJ's, frame mounts, axle mounts ~$2000 - $whatever i can sell my clayton kit for

what do you mean by option 2 and 2.5 using stock arms?

shortarms in back and clayton/3link in front?

Not knowing your budget, I chose 3.5, as it gives you the arm setup I think you're looking for in choice 4, but at less cost although all new stuff would be nice

when i say "stock arms" i mena the stock clayton long arms that i have.. sorry for the confusion. And when I say make new arms, it means arms 5" longer then clayton long arms to acomidate wheelbase stretch.

the ".5" option is just "with front 3-link"

edited OG post, hope it clears things up!

haha this all made sense in my head

3.5 or 4 is the only option i would consider.

in that case i like 3.5

but if you can get the bank you want from the clayton kit

                do the awsum number 4

yar.... i want to try a front 3-link but IRL how much better is it then a radius arm setup like i have now?

pirate 4x4 says its a world of difference

except for the old die hard naxja guys who run wristed radius arms all over jv and say its fine.

i havent wheeled mine hard enough yet, but the 3 link rides nicer than my wristed radius ahm did, thats about it

                        interesting

because if 3-link isnt an improvement over what i have now... it will save me time and money

theres guys that preach about how 3/4 links outperform radius arms in every aspect and spend more time on the computer reading about them than wheeling

then theres the guys who throw together some simple radius arms and wheel the shit out of them and have no complaints. one of the arguments on this topic i have seen and sorta agree with is in a recent thread on naxja. ill dig it up later. but one dude is saying that the numbers in a linked front end arent all that important and all you need to worry about is in the rear. he also goes on to say that a 3 link calculator for the front is useless, just try to get the upper arm as parralel to the ground as possible while keeping halfway decent separation at the axle and you will be good to go

he's one of the guys that actually wheels his often, but he is a preacher of the 3 link.
