i agree the gunmetal goes way better with the paint and newer body style and such. black is what people paint their stock xj rims

ehhh never really been a fan of painted wheels, esp smaller sized. i'd leave it alone, looks good the way it is
. but if your deadset on it than gunmetal over black

ive used the duplicolor stuff before. my 99 silverado's stock rims were flaked big time and rusting from the dog pissing on the rim years ago. sanded down with 320 grit, wiped with paint prep cleaner, and used duplicolor silver and it made the rims look brand new
had the cheap clearcoated aluminum grille chipping/flaking/corroding so i prepped it and used duplicolor metallic gray
