  • CB Antenna ground

i currently have my firestik mounted on my taillight, but i'm getting a offal lot of static noise. So my question is... Does the antenna need to be mounted to the body to be grounded.

mine is grounded fine on the mount that attaches above the tail light. yes, you need a good ground.

man its been awhile for me on this..but...

im pretty sure the antenna itself needs to be isolated from the body/mount...one way of doing this is a plastic washer between the antenna and the mount where it screws in..at least thats how the last firestik i setup was like

        yes.

and mount kit comes with it. you cant just mount the antenna to the tailight.
