  • For those of you with locked/posi Dana Turdy's

How often do you guys break a shaft? And how hard were you in your shit?

I'm looking into building mine soon, and I just want to know how often it really happens, as I'm not hard on my rog but I plan on running 35's

any details about your setups and durability would be sweet

phil has broken a few u joints on 33s. genos jeep exploded. i dunno who else. get 760 joints they will help a little. Alex p ran 35s locked on 260 joints and never broke. He was carefull with it but he still got home no problems.

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

760 joints a must I've only had them break cause the joint failed with the 297 never had any problems with the 760 except last time I replaced 2 outer shafts and snaped both outers at the manuel hub but I think that is bcause I bought the cheepest shafts I could find

this is why you need a 44/60 on 35's

That's pretty much what I was thinking, imnot one for jumps or full throttle assaults, but as I'm going through all the trouble to do the wj swap, gear and etc the axle Im thinking it make cents to lock it up, now I just have to figure out why to put in it

how many times have you wheeled it with 35's and how many of those times have been "high traction" days.... i.e. when its not slippery out ?

I'm locked up front with 33s and I've broken 4 axles shafts so far, 2 on the same weekend, actually. I also blew a front ring gear.

I would not lock the front on 35" tires. 33s is pushing it and I horde D30 shafts like crazy.
