Bed-lining the Interior

What are some pros and cons of pulling the carpet out of the front of an XJ and bed lining it? Went wheeling last night and flooded my interior up to my 4wd shifter and now my carpet ways a billion pounds of water weight.

Tips/ideas are greatly appreciated.

well taking it out does prevent that from happening again. and also instead of having a wet carpet for days, you can just soak the water up with a towel. but if you take it out, it will be much louder inside your jeep. some people can live with the noise, some probably dont. no more noise deadening material.

if you wanna keep it, i suggest getting a bunch of towels and a hairdryer

i did Herculiner...i dont care about sound.. my music is usually louder anyway


the way i see it theres no cons. vacuuming is easy. it looks sweet. and serves great function. if you dont mind it a litle louder inside (honestly i love the sound of a V8 so it doesnt bother me at all) then do it

i would agree with hot in the summer. But even though my trucks not on the road. I let it idle in my driveway and i dont even need to turn the heat on to sit and enjoy my garden greenery. Its nice in there. The exhaust heats the cab up enough So the winter isnt all that bad. and with no exhaust leaks and no floor rot....theres no weird smell...
