  • 5.9 Grand Cherk T-case swap

Buddy of mine has a 5.9 limited Grand Cherokee. It has the all time 4wd, and although its sweet for launches, it would be a lot sweeter with the option of running rear wheel only. I know there is a T-case that bolts in from another model GC. Anybody know which T-case it is? Also with the new T-case, does a different driveshaft need to be run as well?

    I'm pretty sure the only t-case that came in ZJ's with a 2wd option was a 242.

you need a 242HD from any other V8 ZJ or WJ.

          Thanks dude

Do I need to use the ds from behind that? Or will the ds up there currently work?

im not positive on length... or yoke style for that matter. fairly sure the rear output on the 242HD is a flange-type or CV.. depends on if its a ZJ/WJ and what jeep felt like doing that day on the assembly line. it can be converted to a yoke easily like any other tcase, output is 32 spline IIRC.
