to run a 97 hatch on a 96 requires welding part of the new roof in place of old roof

        or some ghetto hackjob

ratchet straps also can hold in tail lights as long as you dont have a spare tire in the back that hits the hatch

buy a 97 up for hella cheap and transfer over your parts?

                          probably the easiest thing

if you go on jeepforum or comanche club there are a few threads where someone converts an old comanche interior to new style interior. Lots of work involved.

Just buy a cheap 97 up and transfer over your parts. If you can find one for around 1000, it would probably be worth it after you bought all the parts for the 97, spent all the time tracking shit down, wasting time removing and installing new shit.
