How much of a pisser is this job going to be? I bought a bolt in assembly, but I hear its a pain in the ass to get the hub out. My buddy is giving me the 13MM 12 pt. socket for the hub bolts, I've got an impact gun with a 120 gallon compressor to get the axle nut off, and he's letting me borrow his 3 jaw gear puller to get the hub out. Any advice, suggestions, how much time should I alot myself? Between that and replacing my floor pan I anticipate most of my Sunday will be spend wrenching/welding/getting angry with my Jeep.

use a 12 point box wrench and a hammer to break the bolts loose. once the bolts are out and the axle nut is off go to town with the hammer. no need for a pullerOriginally posted by Fast Orangeif you piss all over the floor and get 3 drops in the bowl do you count that as good? granted i'm good for a sprinkle or two on the seat, but you leave all of our feet wet, metaphorically speaking of courseOriginally posted by HitItWithSomeSpeedI find adam sandler strangely attractive, it must be josh's fault. god that kid sucks

Might as well do the U-joints while you got it out.
Depends how rusted they are in. If it has been done before and greased well it falls right out. If not it can take up to a hour.
I've never need a puller for this job before, just a hammer.
You don't need an impact gun for this job but it's nice to have and 120 gallon compressor is way more than enough.
The way I do it.
Take the tie rod right off it is only one nut and you can move the spindle quicker back and further.
Back the bolts out a few turns put the socket with a crappy extension on the head of the bolt and Hammer away. Make sure to even out or swings on the 3 bolts so you don't cock the hub, it doesn't take much to cock it and it makes a lot harder to push out.
I use an air hammer with the socket adapter it usually needs a swivel to get in there. Works awesome. I can usually get original ones out it 15min.

basic steps are,
1. remove bolts holding hub on.
2. remove axle nut.
3. beat the fucking shit out of the hub till it falls off.
4. assemble in reverse orderOriginally posted by Fast Orangeif you piss all over the floor and get 3 drops in the bowl do you count that as good? granted i'm good for a sprinkle or two on the seat, but you leave all of our feet wet, metaphorically speaking of courseOriginally posted by HitItWithSomeSpeedI find adam sandler strangely attractive, it must be josh's fault. god that kid sucks

one trick i have learned is to stick a deep socket inbetween the inner knuckle and one of the outer u joint ears
turn jeep on, turn wheel into the socket and it will pop right off.
and dont forget to anti seize it all when ya throw it inOriginally posted by Ktmracer419some people choose video games
