  • Compression test

I did a dry compression test on my 89 to see if the motor was worth putting a cam in it..its got 191k and all the cylinders except for the front was at 150+ psi..which is pretty good, but the 1 up front was at 110..keep in mind that was dry..i didnt do a leak down test to see if its a bad valve seat or somthing, Think it worth popping out the first piston and throwing a set of rings on it..or replacing the cam and running it.

It cant hurt. But I suggest you do a wet compression test. My 2000 has lower compression cylinder #3, did a wet compression test and told me i dont need to mess with the low end. Just swapping in a whole cleaned and rebuilt head.
