  • Tie Rod Swap Question

Are WJ tie rods and drag links a direct swap into an XJ?

I've been checking out ZJ tie rods, etc at the junkyard and there's one available in good condition but I spied a recently arrived WJ that has a super thick tie rod on it. Not sure if its tubing or solid - started raining hard and I got out of there - but I'll be going back for more parts.

I'm almost a 100% positive that you need the knuckles off a wj when using the steering setup

Yep - you're right. Just found out over on naxja too. Guess I'll just go the ZJ tie rod route for now.

Idk, I'd pay 100 bucks for the knuckles and calipers

                    PM sent.
I can get them for ya this week.

I haven't pulled knuckles before so this should be a learning experience for me.
If anyone has any suggestions or knows of anything tricky in pulling these things....please chime in.
