  • Exhaust Manifold Question

My tj started making what sounds like and exhaust leak sound just a couple of days ago. I've heard the jeep exhaust manifolds have a tendancy to crack. Is this true?

Just wanted to see if this has happened to anybody else who can give me any advice trying to troubleshoot the problem.

Are there any upgrades I should do if I have to replace the manifold?

i would start by turning the jeep on and tracing the exhaust leak to find where its at

and yes they are prone to cracking, i would just get a cheap header and bring it to a exhaust shop and have them throw it on.

most likely it its cracked, mine crack right infront... now if you want you can weld it to make it last a little while longer but it will eventually crack again, so you're better off buying an aftermarket one...

Its a 4 cyl right? I didn't know those were also prone to cracking. Check gaskets.
