Kyle did it to his XJ. He'll have the most first had experience to share.

I think the best way to do it is to buy new hinges from an XJ below 97 and weld them into place, then do it the same way as everyone else. I'm too nervous to do it to mine and have it turn out shitty.

I have done it. Just cut the pins in half and hammer them out and put in a pin of some sort. I used a SS bolt. As for electronics there should be a disconnect behind the kick panel.

if i remember correctly i just grinded off the top or bottom of the pin then hammered it out.
also chipp off the plastic lining on the pin before you cut it...
couple good whacks with a chizzle will do the trick.

i used pins from tractor supply i found that were a tad larger so i just drilled the holes out a bit.

easy to do, if it takes ya more than an hour and a half just scrap the jeep and start over....

            youll figure it out

I cut the pin in half, hammer them out, drop a new 5/16" bolt down from the top after drilling it out a little, presto.

its really not that difficult. I took a dremel to the head of the pins and then took a hammer and a punch and knocked them out. I used a couple bolts that fit pretty snug and behind the kick panels on each side there are several connectors for all the door wiring that can be unplugged/plugged each time.

Just finished my drivers door, ended up pulling the brass bushings and drilling out the doorside to accept a 3/8" quick pin. It's not perfect, but it works fine, I'll be doing the passenger side when it's not raining and or freezing
