  • transfer case shift linkage

somehow i broke the rod that goes across from the tranny to the unibody that the two links attach to.

i manually shifted it back into 2H, when i got home i pushed the rod back into its little hole on the tranny side, but it didn't seem too assuring.......

took it out for a test drive, shifts 2H to 4H and into neutral no problems, but i can't get it into 4 low. it seems like the shifter needs to come back more to get it to go in, but it can't. so before i cut the shifter hole bigger, is there a way to fix this?? any ideas?? am i going to need a new one of those rod things??
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

i'm not gonna bother fixing the exsisting set-up. i'm gonna try to do what you and that guy did, i read the write up and it doesn't look too bad. i understand what you did to make it easier and i'll probably end up doing it the same way you did thanks.
