I think I may have a bad ground which is causing some issues on my shitbox. When I start it up, until it gets warm it runs like shit. However after 5-10 minutes of driving it clears up completely and runs fine. It seems to me like something is up with the spark. The plugs are newer and not fouled, and the wires are newer as well. It seems like the problem happens when its been wet for a few days.
I've been reading up on it and people say that the way the Renix is grounded is through a braided wire that isn't sufficient.
Just a few of the things I've read. SO the plan is, tomorrow I will replace the shit strap with some "dookin" wire and see if that helps. I figure, if this makes a difference for me, maybe it could help someone else with this old motor.

Renix engines are notorious for having bad / faulty ground connections as a result of age and not so great design in the connectors.
The only thing in the RENIX system that I would consider an "inherent flaw" would be that the chassis is grounded by way of the engine block, using an open-braid ground strap. Replacing this ground strap and adding a direct ground from the chassis to the battery solves a multitude of issues you probably didn't realise you had - use min. 8AWG if you still have OEM wiring.
