Rear latch Problems

So my rear hatch latch wont release. I 've tried just about every thing i could think of to release it, but none of it worked. So any input would be helpful and appreciated.

thats how wills has been forever, you need to hold the handle open and hit it just right.

im sure there is something you can do to fix it, i wouldnt know though

The adjustment in mine was messed up for the longest time, had to do the fonze, till one day nothing would do it, had to cut an interior access port to get it open, I'd try pushing the gate in and pulling the handle

ive got the same problem, i took a light hammer and hit the bottom of the gate on either side of the latch and now i only have to pull once or twice for it to release
