I got this 89 cherokee, cylinder number 6 drops out between 1500 and 2000 rpm under load..new plugs, good wire, got great spark from the distributor, Im thinking the injector is malfunctioning..Thing idles fine and runs great on the highway when there isnt a huge load on it.

mine used to do that too and it was a TPS. there was a dead spot in the TPS. however i dont know if only one cylinder was cutting out or all of them. I caused a pretty shitty bucking until it reached a point. and it usually did it around 1500-2000. I would check both MAP and TPS
97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.
