It isnt that bad of youre part of the way there already, aka have wonton and a trackbar you can mod.
the benefit of it is the steering input goes directly to the knuckles, as opposed to through the steering itself, aka tierod and draglink intersection.....and if you do it the right way, its OTK. you lose the long ass inverted-T style TRE that loves to bend and fuck up. there is no 'tie rod roll' that is prevalent on other setups (yes i know you can get poly spacers to prevent that, but its merely a "bandaid fix" IMO considering they introduce a new stress onto the ball stud) ..the tie rod goes knuckle to knuckle and you can use short TREs/have more thread engagement on them, which is stronger
plus, you get the bigger WJ dual piston brakes like RJ said.
once i worked out the kinks in mine that were not as much as we had thought originally, its a great setup and im happy i did it.
You need WJ knuckles, calipers/brackets, rotors, an OTA trackbar mount, correct lengthened links, a hub spacer from JKS. and 01 or so XJ/TJ hubs those are the basics

besides for the obvious gain of bigger brakes, whats the difference between the wj setup and the teraflex high steer? as nice as bigger brakes would be i feel like the hunting for parts and trying to make up my own links would end up being more hassle and money then if i just bought the teraflex one and got some decent drilled/slotted rotors
although that setup does look pretty nicedirty30

making links = cutting a length of tube to a measured length, welding a tube insert on either end, and buying TREs.... so i wouldnt consider that much of a hassle at all...if i had a welder it woulda taken me probably 30 mins to make links from the material.
teraflex highsteer is also insanely expensive last i saw..of which doesnt include the extra mods you have to do to accommodate it, some of which i listed for the WJ
also i dont see the benefit of a drilled/slotted rotor on a rig that travels slow speeds...- Will

my trackbar we cut to be straight, sleeved it at the cut and welded, and mounted OTA. it was a TNT bar.
draglink worked out- Will

where did you get all ze parts? the write up raze posted made this seem daunting, and the teraflex kit is like 600 so yeah its retarded.
i know my local u-pull yard doesnt have/doesnt keep the late model vehicles in the public yard, and have them pull anything and theyll charge me $9345734 for itdirty30

Im sorry I just want to completly understand this before I buy parts or think about doing it. So you needed a longer TRE bassically? I am still on the stock trac bar so would it be worth it to get http://store.jksmfg.com/merchant2/me..._Code=FABParts-Caleb

for my tie rod (to replace the long passenger side inverted T gayness one like in a banditt setup, the ES2233L) i used ES453L or the ES2010, theyre both the same. the only thing you need to be wary of when ordering one is the thread direction, seein as either side of the link needs to have opposing threads so u can adjust it on vehicle. so pick and choose which you want accordingly or just use the one i suggested.
as for the trackbar, yeah the stock definitely cannot and will not cut it, so a JKS or similar will do a body good. my trackbar is perfectly straight right now and used to have 1 bend in it. youre gonna need JKS or similar's over the axle mount for it as well.- Will

the WJ conversion is the best thing you can do to your front end. add a WJ BB/MC combo and rear discs and youll stop on a dime and get 9 cents change. my WJ booster locks up my rear drums like a pimp locks up his hoes. plus the steering is beef, and allt he other things will said. its on my list of things to do in the future.
