Spitting and sputtering !!!!

Can anyone tell me what obvious things to look for. Jeep starts and idles ok but when i go to excelerate the mother fucka starts to spit and sputter and then stalls....No check engine light, so now i just have to do the process of elimination thing. I just didnt want to go out and buy costly parts if not needed.

i had a similar issue

would have absotively no balls, just idle like shit and barely accelerate.

i just checked the air filter, looks pretty bad, im gonna pull it out and try running it

funny thing is my air filter didnt appear bad at first glance. until i put it up to the sun and couldnt see light through it

I had similar issue in my old pickup. I spent five minutes looking under the hood and saw that it was a vacuum leak. I would look into it worth the five to ten minutes. Good luck.

Vacuum leak? usually theyre the opposite of this tho..

On my truck it did the exsact same thing. So im throwing it out there it fixed mine so.... might work for him.

when my temperature control sensor went I would have to re-start the Jeep every time I got off the gas and would run like complete shit. Sound similar?

yes sounds some what like whats happening.. maybe i;ll try and replace that sensor.. plus when i went wheeling sat the temp got up to like 250, the shit was boiling..

im having similar problems with mine right now 1990 renix..... the idle is rough and it starts rough but afte about 10 min of driving it randomly gets better.....
