I pop riveted that shit and used silicone around the edges. The silicone is coming loose now so i'm probably gonna JB weld it when i get around to it, maybe even weld it if i finally get the mig i want. Eventually i'm gonna have a rear bumper that wraps around underneath it so i'm not worried about rocks hitting it for now.

edit: you could always throw a bunch of tack welds on the inside and jb weld the rest to seal it

I spose I'll just pop rivet the thing, I could try my hand at mig, but I'm more worry I'll possible my burn a hole through and have only bondo to make it better

You could pop rivet it and use body shop seam seal to seal it water tight. thats the factory stuff used in between pinch welds on body panels.
Lady bugs don't like it when you paint stripes on them

Where would I get said stuff around my parts? I'm guessing the local spit and lube places aren't gonna carry it, maybe I'll try garys auto, they have every thong
