  • cleaning old greasy/rusty parts

Anybody got any good homemade ways of cleaning old greasy/rusty parts? Obviously i don't have a parts washer and i don't have the money to buy all brand new shit so i gotta make do with what i got. For example hubs/axleshafts/spindles/etc.

I was planning on very lightly sanding off any rust, then put them all on some sort of grate up off the ground, pick up a shit ton of cans of degreaser and go to town with that followed by a rising with the hose.

Obviously everything will be properly lubed up afterwards.

forgot to add that in, that shit is magic

some of the spots are hard to reach with a brush or wire wheel, i think i'm gonna pick up some extra cans of PB too so i can spray that in there before i really start degreasing/cleaning to losen up any rust that i can't reach

kerosine is what a lot of people use in parts washers.

Yes, just like I said. Most parts washers use a kerosene product and a stiff brush
