NV4500 first. The first gear is stupid low.

    ax15 second.

manual trans is easy and fun to wheel when you have low enough gears. Which I do not.

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

I personally like the ax-15 better.way easier to work on and way more fun to drive. The only issue I've ever had with the ax15 is the throw out bearing slipping thru the clutch fork causing the clutch fork to grind on the clutch.Once you have it all figured out pulling your tranny and tcase should only take you 30 to 45 mins.

Down the road my rigs getting a 5.0 in one form or another so would the ax15 hold up?
          Edit.
Long story short my boss is good friends with one of the higher ups in billy the kid motors. I buy all the stuff he gives me 300 hp.

Not to sure if the ax-15 will hold up to that power, but Billy and Curtis from billy the kid motors do good work.youll be really happy with a motor from them.

It may be a 5.2 in the end but some form of a Billy the kid motor will be in my jeep by the end of winter.

This 15$ an hour and 15 hours of over time is dangerous.

Novak says ax15s hold up to LS1 swaps, other sources say to watch torque input when you use one with a v8. if you don't beat the shit out of it an ax15 should be fine, worst case scenario you go get a terminator ax15 and you either wont break because of the better torque rating or will be too cautious with the skinny pedal for fear of a $1300 loss

You're talking about someone who can't keep an AW4 alive behind a 4.0. Sounds like he needs an NV4500

Why stop there? I know an Eaton 13spd will give better ground clearance!!!

Or he should stop being the guy that can't say no to helping out his idiotic friends. I am ok with some mud but I prefer trails and rocks. Just saying.

There are a bunch of nv4500s around In the local yards.... All behind 360s..... That'd work with my possible 5.2 swap.
