  • Dana 44a truss/diff cover...thoughts/opinons?

whats up fellas, im still deciding which route to go with either the 8.8 or 44a...i was all for the 8.8 and wanted to start working on one over the summer, but a 44a would just be so much easier..

theres a company that makes a truss/skid for it called mountain valley customs i was just curious what you guys thought about it:

also bluetorch fab makes a diff cover for it as well:

besides the aluminum housing its a good axle especially since i only want to run 33's with it and i know ill be able to find an aussie for it somewhere either used or new...

i was just curious what you guys though about this..

Let me start off by saying, "There is nothing on the east coast that is rough enough or harsh enough to warrant the use of a truss on your Dana44."
            That said:
Personally I wouldn't bother with those inferior products you listed. I recently finished installing my Superior Axle Dana44 axle truss kit, from Superior Axle. It is an incredible product, the quality is unmatched, and Superior Axle is a REAL Brand name, a name everybody knows. I find it highly doubtful that you will EVER need something this heavy duty out where you are, but my conscience wouldn't bare it if I didn't at least try to steer you in the right direction. The last thing I want is for you web-wheelers to read something online, and think you can just go out and try it. That is how accidents and fatalities happen on the trail. If you want to ensure your Dana44 will remain in one piece on the trail, stick with a name that appears on more than one page of the Quadratec catalog.

Here are two of my write-ups on the Superior Axle Dana44 axle truss:

Another incredible write-up for the Superior Axle Dana44 truss
