  • Misfire Cyl 1,2,3,4

Check engine light came on recently flashing codes for misfires on cylinders 1,2,3,4. The Jeep runs rough at idle but past 1000RPM it runs fine.

I didn't pull the plugs or anything yet. Anyone have this issue before?

It's a Jeep, leave it and it'll go away in a day or two.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

A total of 4 codes came in so I changed out the IAC and reset the codes.

Check engine light comes back in this time flashing 9 codes and raising the idle to 1500rpm

                  4 is better then 9

I put the old IAC back in, reset the codes, and the check engine light has been off since.

                  WTF?

you have to drive with the new IAC so it resets its paramaters or some snazzy shit like dat.

Try what crosby said....did you reset the codes with a scanner or by disconnecting the battery? Disconnect the battery and touch the terminals together. It will reset the computer completely. Also, did you check for any vacuum leaks or anything like that? While the high rev at idle is most likely caused by a crappy IAC, it could be a vacuum leak too. If its an intake/throttle body leaking it can cause some issues

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.
