Is it possible to swap the current sensors you have to the 94 engine? What kind of gremlins do you have going on? What's a new mechanical engine gonna change that's electrically different? What are some of the symptoms?

His obd2 port doesnt really work, and obd1 should be easier to diagnose in the future

this, some days it runs great... some days it doesn't...but its getting progressively worse and at this point i wouldn't trust it to go 50 feet dow the road to the gas station.

Dumb question, but have you checked the crank sensor? That's almost what it sounds like. I'm pretty sure that it can cause the OBD2 port to not communicate correctly, as well as run like shit sometimes.

I wouldn't undertake it myself. If you cant figure out the issue with your current jeep then i don't see how you could undertake something a lot more involved.

how is swapping OBD2 down to OBD1 engine harness and motor more involved than figuring out some bad electrical bullshit problem. i mean i understand there, im just left scratching my head

using a voltmeter and testing shit isn't a lot less involved than pulling an engine?

I have done so...no luck which is why I'm puzzled still. Spent many hours swapping sensors and testing wires. So much time actually that i prolly coulda had a 350 in there by now lol, just Sick of testing....just want to rest easy with peace of mind that I can go out, hit the key and it will go. Beginning to wonder about a stretched timing chain tho......

I still think you have an o2 sensor issue. You said you don't have an o2 sensor and that you've replaced everything under the sun. But you haven't wired back up an o2 sensor.

The wiring is missing, correct? Find where the wiring is cut at and splice In a new line to run an o2 sensor

Yup it might finally be time to look for that secondary O2 sensor wire

If you don't care about having chassis electronics... Can always go stand-alone. Good product, reasonable price, stupid simple. It's best for putting a MPI 4.0L in an older carb'ed jeep, but still an option.

There really aren't alot of things you'd have to change over to begin with though that i can think of off the top of my head.

edit: after reading past the OP.... do some searching, you may not need a motor, esp if it's an electrical issue.

No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

fix the problems you know you have rather than chasing non existant problems

Im pretty sure ive said this before.... I have witnessed shorted out o2 wires shut an engine down. you say its when the jeep gets up to temp? well the engine trys to run off the sensors once it reaches operating temperature.... and if them bad boys are shorted out.... WALLLLAAAAAA dead engine
