  • check engine light help

check engine light has been on for some time but my 2.5 97 tj runs great. the codes i got were P0463-fuel level volts high and P0138-oxygen sensor short to voltage bank1 sensor2.

i've looked around on the net and it seems like i'm going to have to change an O2 sensor but i'm not sure which one to fix the P0138 code.
but for code P0463, i have no idea what to do.

i have to go for emissions test soon and i need to get this done....any ideas?

Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the post-cat sensor. So that wouldn't effect how it runs. But you will probably have to replace that in order to get through emissions.

The other one could be something with the sending unit?

If it were me, I'd replace the rear O2 sensor (after checking there aren't any broken wires to it), and clear the codes. Don't fill the fuel tank all the way maybe to avoid the other code? That way you can at least get it though emissions.
