  • Wj front end options

The time has come to start to consider building a bigger front end. Wondering if anyone has any ideas. I'm looking for something from 63 to 65 WMs. Some options are an older bronco 44 waggy 44's or jk rubicon 44 I guess, but I'm not trying to spend nearly that much . Ideally I don't want to have to buy a locker so locking hubs and a welder could fix that. Just wanted to hear some opinions, or if anyone has anything laying around. Also going to be gearing 4.88 so let me know what you think.

i always wanted to do JK 44's under mine. Have you upgraded the shafts or anything in your 30? are you still running the CV's?

I'm running rcv's since I broke stock shafts twice but with the 35's the gears must be crying

Just wheel it the way you have it for a while trust me you can do 98% of new england and RC the way your jeep is now. I NEVER broke a stock shaft with 35s and a front locker.

Amen. Come back when you blow up your gears. Spend less money on parts and more money going wheeling.

This, seriously. I ran 35's for ever, and broke 2 shafts. You have RCV's. Gear it, and run it. Took 37's to break my pinion.
If you really must swap it, a 44 still has the same size joints so anticipate buying chromos and cromo joints. So at that point you can build a 60.
Oh and no welded front if you plan on driving in the snow. So a jk 30 is also a good option.
