Fuel Pump

Got a 90 XJ sitting around that I need to change the fuel pump in. Anybody done it before and tell me where/how to do it.

its easy

especially in a lifted truck. get less than a half tank of gas.

unplug dat shit

punch out retaining ring (some prefer to use brass punches fo no spark, i just use screwdrivers and don't get too nutty)

slide new junk in, tap ring into place

plug dat shit in

I always have a bitch of a time not destroying that ring, then getting the gasket just right and getting the ring back in.... If your having a hard time then just bite the bullet and drop the tank.

yea took me a few pump installs to master it. if you buy a chink chang autozone fuel pump you will become good and swapping them out and getting a new one under warranty then swapping it out again and replacing it under warranty and swappf
