  • Diff Fluid

I'm about to change the rear diff fluid and have the factory limited slip that requires the special additive. My question, should I go with the valvoline that claims to be safe for an LSD or go with the mopar gear oil and separate additive.

Whatever is cheaper. All it is is friction modifier. If the valvoline has it then go for it

Perfect, wasn't sure if all friction modifier was considered equal

I bought the additive for the LSD and mixed if with regular diff fluid(whatever was onsale) worked like a charm.

Just cause it says limited slip on it doesnt mean that it has a lot of the friction modifier in it. I would still buy a bottle of friction modifier. and X2 on whatever is cheap.

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

They usually fail after 40,000 miles anyways so if you have a lot of miles on the differential just run normal gear lube, But also most GL5 rated gear lubes have friction modifiers in them already
