  • driveshaft problems i think

I got a 95 xj np231 and an ax15 I want to do an sye or a hack and tap unsure if the auto front sshaft will work or if I need something custom I'm not 100 percent sure ifbit makes a difference but it has a. Dana 35 which I believe is an inch shorter then the8.25" it had before

    You swapped a 8 1/4 for a d35?

First off, what kinda lift do you have?

The nose of the axle so yoke length from the center. Of the spring perch to the center of the u joint and its 95 so I went from a 27 sspline 8.25 to a super 35 with discs that I got. For a good deal

last i remember the front shaft was iffy even with an 8.25 never dun did a hack n tap but was reading a lot about em a while back. im gonna do the SYE in the end...for now i just threw an inch drop kit in. and it saved me from having to buy that right now. but again im only running 3.5" of lift

Your front shaft is going to be way to short. Not because of what rear end you have, but because a ax15 is about 3-4 inches shorter than a aw4.

Yeh, I know. You can't use a front auto shaft in the rear with an ax15. It's toooo short because the tranny is shorter

Yeah that would be awesome if you could measure the shaft. I took. Quick measurements myself and guessed 36 cause I have the old. Style. 231 with the 3 bolt seal end
