Alright thanks for that. I'll tell you if i need it. I'm going to test all of these other sensors before changing that though.

I also took the little cap off the tee on the vacuum line (or i think it's the vacuum line, it's the line that goes into the Vacuum Canister) and i dropped the thing. I for the life of me cannot find the thing, does anyone know what this is called or where i could get a new one?

If you throw a picture up I could see if I have one and I'll give it to you.

Problem has gotten worse. I drove it around for a day just to see if it was still acting up, i thought everything was fine, then BAM.

I was about a mile from my house, when the thing just dies. Idle goes to nothing, i throw it in neutral and manage to cost to the side of the road into someones driveway.

I proceed to try to crank it back up (it normally fires right back up) but nothing happens. It just cranks and cranks and cranks but no fire. I'm sitting here for like 15 minutes cranking the thing every so often to see if it will fire, but it won't. (I was depressing the gas pedal as well, but still not firing.) I eventually got it to crank over, and managed to drive it home, but i don't think it's going anywhere until i actually figure out what's going on.

I know it needs a new battery, so that is first. New battery is going in. I also think it needs a CPS, but i could be wrong here. I need to go test mine. I also had my camcorder with me when it happened, so i was able to record the cranking without any start. Here's the video if any of you want to watch it.

Oh, and does anyone know of where i can buy another one of those caps for my vacuum line? I have pictures above of where the cap goes and what cap i'm missing.

That is what happened to my jeep at first it would restart then it go to the point where it would crank and crank and wouldnt start until the next morning. And my problem was the crank sensor . Not saying thats deff your problem but very similar.

If you put the peddle to the floor does it fire up?

This time no. I was pumping the pedal while cranking, and just holding it down, and still it wasn't firing over. Just waited then it fired over again for me to get it home.

Might sound stupid but unplug the ignition coil and plug it back in the next time it does this, I don't mean the wire that goes to the distributor but the other end. My dads jeep did the same thing starting wise, turned out to be a balls dirty coil wire. Cleaned it and put a dab of dielectric grease on it and it hasn't done it since (3 weeks)

Just did this, didn't seem to do anything.

Which one of these replacements would you buy?

Change the battery before you try to troubleshoot another problem. If your driving at low rpms and your battery cant hold enough charge and your alternator isnt putting out enough voltage it will cause every problem you have described.

I am. I'm buying a new battery as i type this. Going through a list of Advanced Auto Discount codes on JF and entering them into the website to see how cheap i can get the battery for. I currently have a 120.99$ battery down to 89.97$.

I'm also going to change out the oil to see if it stabilizes my oil gauge.

Once that is done, i'll report back.

Just got back from Advanced Auto like 2-3 hours ago. Bought a new battery, and some oil. (if you've been following this thread you'd know my oil pressure is fluctuating.) David was telling me one of my sensors might be bad (he mentioned which, but i totally forgot it.) causing my oil pressure to fluctuate.

Changed out the battery, and when i went to put the negative terminal on the battery, the ground snapped. That might of been causing part of my problem, as most of the wires must of been frayed for it to snap off. Stripped it down, put a new end on it, and bolted it back to the fender wall. All fixed.

Pulled out the oil plug, got more oil on the driveway than in the bucket, and finally got some new oil in it. Strayed away from the FRAM filter, and put in a Napa gold filter. Not sure when the last time the oil was changed, so i figured it wouldn't hurt. The old oil was pretty nasty.

Seems to fire over faster, but i'm not sure if that fixed the stalling problem. I'm not sure what my voltage meter should read when i turn the key to the position right before it cranks, but mine reads around 12. My fuel gauge also reads incorrectly at times too. I'm near positive both of these are signs of a bad CPS.

I'll drive it around a little bit, and if the stalling persists, i'll change out the CPS. Thanks for all your help.

Could someone please tell me where i could get a cap for my vacuum line here? I don't think it's good to drive around without a cap on this, it just sucks things in. It's literally like a vacuum just sucking things in. These pictures below are where the cap goes.
