  • Gearing question

I have a TJ that I had geared to 4:11. I'm running 33 inch tires. It has an ax-15 and NP231. I though I was geared fine until I took it to Rausch creek PA for the first time and I noticed that when I play in the rock the jeep tends to lunge forward putting me in some pretty precarious situations as seen in the video below .. What is an ideal ratio for my combo? Would a rubi case solve my problems? I'd rather not regear twice..

    Thanks

learn to use the clutch better.
It's OK to slip the OEM clutch last a long time.
Check out team 222 at RCrocs search youtube he has an ax-15 and watch how clean he can drive it.

Lower is always better because you can shift up.
Basically gear high range for the road since you drive it on the road.
And low range for the rocks. so a lower T-case or a doubler.
The cheapest option would be a rubicon t-case the 241 it has a 4:1 ratio.
Everything else is you will need new drive shafts. unless you do a teralow which is stupid money.

      that's about it
