just let it keep hitting. theres a bearing cradle on the newer 4.0 and 2.5s in there. once the oil pan gets to that it wont dent any further.

UHHH take a look at the oil pan from dougs jeep, same dent i gaurentee it. He didnt complain about said dent, in fact didnt notice it till i said something a few years ago

nah dude, works mint. until the bearing cradle dents into the crankshaft, then you have to drive it home 350 miles with a horrid knocking noise.

how you fix?

Step 1)Drop pan.
2)Hit with hammer.
3)Reinstall.
4)Make bumpstops out of hockey pucks.
5)Be sure to make them 1/2" too short. (this step is incredibly important)
6)Install.
7)Drive vehicle, re-dent oil pan.
8)Curse like a sailor... excessively.
9)Rinse.
10)Repeat.
