  • Mopar fuel tank skidder

so after a few hours of searching here and there i attempted to find a relatively cheap gas tank skidder. i had to replace my tank yesterday because 1. it sprang a leak and 2. the guy before me had beat on it so hard that the tray that goes inside the tank itself had actually separated from the bottom of the tank and started to bash the shit out of my fuel pump. so i found this

never knew that mopar had actually made a factory skidder for them, but i figured for 160 its not really a bad deal. anyone ever use one of them or have any input? searched here...multiple forums, and for the past 2 hours now on google. but nothing really comes up, thanks!

I think $160 is slightly outrageous for the tiny stock skid.

I picked up a ZJ gas tank skid and an XJ hitch for $40 at the junkyard, that is the route i would go for a cheap, easily beefable skid, because down the road you could easily just plate the entire thing and make it bomb proof.

unfortunately at the junkyards here skidders are few and far between
however bomb proof sounds like fun

I also got a zj skid and xj hitch. took a little massaging of the tank but everything works nice. I'd sooner just buy this for $300 than a stock one for 160. http://www.jcroffroad.com/mm5/mercha...ode=XJ-SKD-TNK
